Mammography can reduce breast cancer mortality by 15-20%. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that a woman's chance of dying from breast cancer when she is 40-49 is 1 in 500. This increases to 1 in 250 for ages 50-59 and 1 in 140 for ages 60-69.

Family Medicine Office at Tower Pointe

The original members of the group were Dr. William G. Roche and Dr. Oliver Willard. Dr. Roche opened his practice in Greenwood in 1967. He and Dr. Willard opened their office on Edgefield Street in 1977. They they opened a new and larger office and became Professional Park Family Practice shortly after Dr. Murphy joined the practice in 1988. Dr. Todd Gallman joined the group in 1994.

Professional Park Family Practice merged with Piedmont Family Medicine in May 1996 and incorporated to become Piedmont Health Group. The medical field today is dominated by large corporations and there is an ever growing body of medical information that physicians must keep up with. We have found that our larger practice is better suited to meeting the health care needs of our patients.  In 2006 Piedmont Health Group began work on a new medical center where we could offer our patients a broad array of medical services within our own practice.

On October 1, 2007, the Professional Park Office moved into their new offices located in the Tower Pointe Medical Center at 105 Vine Crest Court.  This is at 1020 Alexander Road West, just off the By-Pass 225, and behind the Shell gas station which is at the corner of Alexander and the By-Pass.
